This sounds like such an excellent idea, Part II—1:12 PM
Cell Phone at Movie Leads to 2 Arrests [The (Lakeland, FL) Ledger]
This is exactly the sort of thing we should be doing. Only we shouldn't need to bother police officers with it. All filmgoers should be armed with tasers and pepper spray. (Remember, "refrain" means "don't do it.")
(By the way, "Witnesses said the pair did nothing wrong." What?! Talking at all, cell phone or not, during the movie is something wrong.)

Yeah, but come on... it was "Catwoman." I think a case could be made that the cell phone users were saving their fellow moviegoers from themselves.

He he. Sure, sure. But I'm of the mind that, leave it to me to make the bad decision. I paid the money, I may as well be able to judge for myself. Plus, what if I'm the sound designer on Catwoman and I'm trying to impress my date by showing her my work? Now Little Miss "Family Emergency" is ruining my game.
If someone were to run to the front of the auditorium and holler, "Catwoman is awful - follow me to safety!", at least I'd respect the heroism. But talking into your cell phone is the least effective form of protest. (Unless it's a giant papier-mâché cell phone.)

Sweet - now I know what I'm doing this weekend!
