This was the kind of project (it’s a bit too sprawling to be just a “prank”) that was always going to win my heart, just from the pitch. But learning more about it only makes it more delicious. The participants, Townsend especially, are a lovable bunch, and their anti-capitalist “art can save the world” ethos is reflected upon with just enough self-awareness and -deprecation to prevent it from becoming tiresome.
