There are times its editing reminds me of a great MST3K line: “Weren’t they concerned with holding an audience in the ’70s?” but once it gets going it’s got a great claustrophobic tension and the subpar performances have a certain terse intensity that’s hard to resist. Zimmer treads a fine line between “steely can-do broad” and “sleepwalking.”
