The tone of hagiography is strong, but luckily not all-encompassing. The film makes excellent use of its access to Reeve’s contemporaries, behind the scenes footage, and family archives to tell an interesting story of how fame changed the course of his life in unimaginable ways, only to have injury do the same a couple of decades later. The depth of his bond with Robin Williams is fascinating and revealing, and the interviews with his children are deeply moving.
