This movie was never in my regular rotation (this may only be my second time seeing it start-to-finish), and coming back to it so many years later I find Murphy’s commitment to a sincere theme really impressive. (Also, as someone who knows John Amos primarily from The West Wing, seeing him in such a different character is a giddy treat.)
