The dialogue and plotting aren’t always the sharpest, but it’s well thought out and it has a clear and radicalizing message about the social order. It’s viscerally satisfying watching a group of flawed but good-hearted people standing up to bullies who celebrate violence right up until you take away their unfair advantage. As a depiction of our government’s callous disregard for its most vulnerable citizens, I fear it may be rendered quaint before the decade is out.
