We’re kind of an a point that if A24 puts out a non-horror film, I'm inclined to make it a priority, with no other information needed. No regrets in this case! Its imaginative approach to its moving, compelling theme; the tone and rhythm, which caught me off guard, but really worked well; and the genius of taking full advantage of JLD’s gift for making unsympathetic characters understandable, fragile, and human.
