It has one too many giant battles (especially since none of them really mean anything), two too many endings, and many many more “clever,” fourth-wall-shattering asides than it needs (especially things like Disney/Fox merger jokes that won’t age well). Still, Jackman is fantastic, as are all the surprise guests. Deadpool’s irreverence has been a welcome counterpoint to a lot of Marvel’s dominance, and this makes for a flashy, rollicking finish to the series, so let’s hope that’s what it is.
