The marketing set my expectations pretty low, but this ended up funnier than expected, with some heart and an actual story rather than a march of sophomoric set pieces. Good performances all around, too. I don’t often enjoy Leslie Mann much, but she’s funny and relatable here—the character plays more to her strengths than usual.
