It’s definitely a bit overly pleased with its sarcastic meta-commentary (though to some extent that’s ironic, part of its approach). To me, it hammers home its Hollywood critiques a bit too often, and it spends way too much time on a murder mystery that isn’t really serious and a romantic chemistry between Robbins and Scacchi that never really sparks.
