The design of the film is top-notch, and its message is relevant if not ground-breaking. Pugh continues to deliver very impressive work, and Wilde does a fine job maintaining a sinister undertone throughout otherwise innocent scenes—it contributes to an effective off-kilter feeling that pays off well when things start to unwind.
