Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

The darker tone and sharper action are satisfying, but the villains and central conflict are preposterous and overplayed. Hubris, and an idealistic failure to predict the unpredictable made a far more satisfying “antagonist” in the original film—it’s all been downhill from there. Howard continues to turn in solid work no matter how ridiculous her surroundings. It’s just a shame they work so hard to justify details that are ultimately unimportant; they could cut all that and show more dinos running amok.
