It’s hard to evaluate Bang’s performance, but everyone else is more interesting than him, so it's a shame he gets so much screen time. The character certainly is an oily, despicable snake, but he’s played with a blandness that’s either bad acting or a really poor acting choice. Elizabeth Debicki’s screen presence is, as always, arresting. Sutherland is delightful and sympathetic. I think his character would get along famously with the protagonist from Pig.
