Warm, funny, visually dazzling, and stylistically innovative. It’s interesting how this and Luca, and The Mitchells vs. the Machines and The Bad Guys all started pushing the typical look of computer-animated films in subtle new directions at the same time—maybe the entire industry took notice when Spider-Verse showed what was possible, and three years is about the amount of time it takes to churn these out. The snappy energy and fourth-wall moments work well for this story, and the actors and animators deliver spectacular work.
