It doesn’t seem like the freshest story, but it can be hard to be completely original within the constraints of a family tale and given the crowded marketplace of similar films. There’s fun energy here, and Galifianakis and Grazer really elevate their characters. The film has more nuance than most in its take on friendship, particularly how it evolves over time.
