I wasn’t sure I’d like this much: the previous version seemed distasteful and I’m not much invested in the DC characters. But I gave it a try because it was streaming for free, and because I’m a softy for Harley. Gunn once again delivers an inventive, poetic story that skewers the absurdity of comic book heroes while still finding their humanity. It’s fun and funny, and never without heart.
