Follows Once very nicely, and seems to have provided a casting springboard for the second season of Carney’s consistently engaging Modern Love anthology. The story isn’t wildly innovative, but it’s charming (as are its leads) and it captures the excitement of creativity and possibilities, with some music that is believable as the output of middle schoolers but also terrific. Jack Reynor steals many scenes.
