It feels like the script was written in one sitting as a stream-of-consciousness, because anything goes, at any moment, and there’s barely any story, and even less logic. (Much less.) But somehow it all works, anyway! The genius of it is its investment in the characters of Barb and Star—they are so specific and true to themselves that pretty much anything else can happen. Not every gag lands, but most do, and they keep you coming back for more.
