The pacing is a bit uneven, and it can’t exactly compare with Carpenter’s take on the material (certainly not his claustrophobic, paranoid mood, with dozens of extras meandering unfazed around vast sets), but the debates are thought-provoking and Robert Cornthwaite is terrific.
