The frame story is a curious approach, and the film shows a lot of Rogers at work, which I think demonstrates that they really wanted to tell Fred’s story more than Lloyd’s, but Hanks is excellent and the film’s sweet tone unfolds a bit like a fable, capturing what was magical about Rogers.
