Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga
2020 · 2hrs 3min · PG-13
Metacritic · IMDb · Netflix
Rachel McAdams brings a winning sparkle and genuine enthusiasm (as always), and she alone rescues this from being another late-career Will Ferrell dud. He’s simply played the same oafish, oblivious character in too many contexts, and his character doesn’t fit the film’s tone at all. He feels like a garish distraction from every scene except the slapstick pratfalls. It’s a shame they couldn’t have more fun satirizing pop music, too, once they decided to play the final song completely straight.
