I really like how Waititi’s sensibilities are shaping up as a writer and a director, and Johansson turns in her best work since Ghost World. There are some dazzlingly brilliant moments in this, but I wanted to like it more than I did. I’m hoping a future viewing without such high expectations will do the trick.
