The cinematography is the Michael Bayiest work he's ever done—at times it seems like it must be intended as self-parody. The action is well choreographed and laid out (a lot more watchable than usual) with a little extra Deadpool-style carnage sprinkled in. The script itself is oversimplified (of course), and—as a pretext for tying together several disparate action set pieces—would have been less problematic if it hadn't attempted to dress itself up as a political statement.
