Singing Queen in the car was cool, but Carvey doesn’t hold up well outside a six-minute sketch format, and there’s no attempt to tell a coherent story with any credible conflict—too much time is spent on catchphrases and throwaway gags. Admittedly, this was the style at the time. I should have watched it years ago, back when everyone told me I should.
