Berg and Wahlberg do a nice job threading the needle of these hero-worship docudramas, incorporating the inevitable cheerleading without the schmaltz overpowering the narrative. Berg makes excellent use of economic camera and editing choices, avoiding visual flair that would make his retelling feel dishonest. He sets up stakes and tension, then assembles an intensely gripping firefight that shows how these men function as an elite unit. The sound mix is absolutely perfect.
