Warm and funny—even wholesome, but with an R-rated sensibility—Wilde gets genuine performances from her young cast and wraps it all together in a lively package. Last-week-of-school movies have a certain structure you can’t really subvert (at this point, we’ve seen every version), but this film innovates nicely within it while introducing a charming cast of characters who really get along.
