It’s nice to see Pixar exploring a larger world of how toys live, and the evolution of Bo Peep is phenomenal—especially given the limited time for character development as the cast continues to swell. The story focus also feels pared down (kind of bonking off the same goal the entire time), and the decision to go hyper-realistic (while gorgeous) tampers with the believability of the toys’ scale and causes distractions.
