It’s one of the best roles for capturing Murray’s pre-Wes Anderson essence, and it maintains a rollicking momentum almost all the way through. The romantic conflict isn’t particularly well justified, and doesn’t stack up to the ingenious city-as-antagonist main thread, but Davis does her best with it.
