My favorite Jonze, and by far my favorite Joaquin Phoenix. This film is warm, humane, gorgeous, absurd, intriguing, and—perhaps most importantly—conversational. It’s been a long, long time since I was so satisfied by a film in which the dialogue is there to contemplate ideas rather than move the plot forward. Top three Amy Adams performance, too.
