There’s an interesting story here about an approach to criminal activity that’s seldom depicted in TV and movies, and this retelling pulls the narrative forward nicely—the rest, however, quickly deteriorates into solipsism and circular thinking. It’s an intriguing firsthand glimpse into life with mental illness, and written with a folksy charm, but could have used another editing pass to focus its approach.
