Streep and Grant are perfectly cast (as is Helberg, though he plays it a bit too twitchy). They have a lot of fun playing with the absurdity of the situation, though Grant deserves the lion’s share of credit—his understated desperation sets up the satisfying tension that carries the premise past its early scenes.
