Begins with a fairly intriguing idea and some chilling imagery, then makes every decision completely wrong from that point on. Casting, story, dialogue, camera, editing (especially editing). Every single performance is startlingly bad except Alan Ruck in a two-minute scene—even Wahlberg, no master thespian, was great in The Departed two years earlier. There's no excuse for this.
