A totally unfamiliar performance from McQueen, who twinkles his way through the romantic patter and the absurd schemes with ease. It’s goofy as hell, like many comedies of its age, but it’s fun and satisfying with a canny ensemble who exhibit great chemistry and comedic timing. It’s very easy to draw a line between this and Semple, Jr.’s work on Batman.
