Hathaway is the right lead, because it's really hard to make such characters remotely sympathetic, and she alllmost gets you there. Credit is due for handling simulated sex in a realistic way in some challenging scenes, but the overall point about the struggle with identity, persona, and community was actually made more effectively in Keanu.
