Solidly built, it’s a nuanced and unflashy revenge story based around a unique character who’s forced to find strength he’s not sure he has. It would pair well with Winter’s Bone (though I wouldn’t recommend pairing them; you’ll want to kill yourself after). Its pace isn’t exactly languid, but there’s something in the unhurried nature of its scenes that recalls the best of Shane Carruth or Tom McCarthy.
