This begins with a fertile premise and some fantastic work from Gugino and Greenwood, but ends up veering into some bizarre territory and then spending a lot of time debating itself, before crashing into a truly disjointed denouement. If you’ve read at least five of King’s books, you’ll spot the “hook” coming a mile away.
