A creative and winning premise, explored with clever wit and insight—and great turns from Hathaway, and particularly Sudeikis. It falters a bit in the middle, and would benefit from a Groundhog Day approach to presenting supernatural events without a specific explanation, but it recovers for a rousing finish that doesn’t overstay its welcome.
