A few moments of satire sparkle, but mostly this is the disaster you’d expect it to be. It would be wonderful to see what could have been; a style as specific as David O. Russell’s really depends on follow-through that’s sorely missing when someone else is overseeing reshoots, music, and editing. But it’s hard to get a sense of what they were going for, and any elements of the book (which I liked a lot) are undetectable.
