A deep cast makes the most of Christie's typical Poirot wit and intrigue (and typical fairly preposterous ending), though Finney's unique portrayal alternates between charming and distracting. There's a fascinating claustrophobic effect to staging most of the action back and forth between two train cars, and Lumet handles it well.
