One of my favorite things about cinema is how the proper arrangement of a few key elements can so efficiently outline a specific style. This film ends up squandering that a bit: its strong opening, full of wit and crosstalk, gives way to a prolonged shootout before the viewer has any real chance to develop a rooting interest. It's a freewheeling descent into mayhem, though, and the nonstop shifting of alliances and strategies will feel familiar to any viewer of CBS's Survivor.
