It deserves a few points for some very dedicated set decoration, which goes a long way towards establishing the madcap environment Aykroyd decided to create, but that’s it. John Candy is great, and Valri Bromfield gives a committed performance, but everyone else is terrible, the narrative is a scattershot mess, and the film is too gross to be funny yet too laughable to be as horrifying as it wants to be.
