I'll be honest, I wanted to watch the eyebrows that put Natalie Portman to shame without having to watch Game of Thrones. But I lucked out—no massive subversion of the romantic movie beats here, but marvelous performances all around, and a moving story which proves why we have formulas: done well, they work.
