Render's Done!—4:16 PM
I spent the last week making tiny polishes to my animation and then wrangling dozens of renders to make it look pretty. A conservative estimate is about 40 hours of rendering (including some restarts) in order to produce about 45 seconds of finished animation. (Luckily the computer can render while I sleep.)
Yesterday, I submitted all this to Pixar's Animation Internship program, with about four minutes remaining to the deadline. I figure I submitted about 60% of my class assignments in the same time frame – they say an animated shot is never finished, it's taken from you – so the scenario was not unfamiliar, but the stress level was exponentially higher.
